Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative II, you'll play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient access to our medical therapies. You'll work closely with physician offices, payers, and other stakeholders to facilitate prior authorization, verify insurance coverage, and resolve any issues that may arise. Your exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex healthcare systems will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Responsibilities

* Validates patient insurance coverage and communicates any issues with benefits or coverage to the appropriate managers

  • Checks the requirements for prior authorization and initiates as required
  • Coordinates required paperwork, clinical notes, and forms for submission to support requests and initiates as required
  • Follows up frequently to ensure visibility on authorization status throughout the approval process
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of payer payment processes and detailed knowledge of payer prior authorization processes
  • Possesses basic ICD9/10 and CPT code familiarity, with expert knowledge on a subset of Client therapy codes
  • Exhibits superior customer service skills, with outstanding communication skills to use with various stakeholders, including physicians, sales representatives, payer representatives, utilization reviewers, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Displays advanced Client Excel skills and the ability to learn and use multiple CRM software programs as needed
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple inquiries at the same time and critical problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

Essential Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with CRM software and prior authorization processes

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in healthcare, medical sales, or a related field

  • Knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT codes
  • Familiarity with payer payment processes and prior authorization requirements
  • Certification in customer service, healthcare, or a related field

Skills and Competencies

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
