Job Summary
As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering data into our computer systems, producing and maintaining data reports, and performing database queries to assist with analysis. You will also be responsible for verifying data entries for accuracy and completeness, undertaking special projects, and performing audits of your own work and that of others to ensure conformance with established procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Enter accurate and complete data into computer programs, ensuring compliance with established procedures and protocols.
- Produce and maintain data reports, identifying inconsistencies or issues and alerting management accordingly.
- Perform database queries to assist with analysis, providing recommendations for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
- Verify data entries for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Undertake special projects, providing periodic and consistent information to management for each phase of the assigned project.
- Perform audits of your own work and that of others to ensure conformance with established procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
- Assist in the processes required for medical case file creation and/or closing, including data entry and records management.
- Provide assistance with decision notification, including mailing decision letters to all parties and faxing decision letters as necessary.
- Accurately update the Medicare Appeal system (MAS) and other databases, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate and maintain appropriate judgment with confidential information, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data.
- Determine if work assignments need supervisor intervention, escalating issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
Minimum Requirements
* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience required, with a strong understanding of data entry processes and procedures.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred, with a strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and other relevant software applications.
- Prior experience with Medicare Appeals and Systems preferred, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance.
- Must be a US Citizen or have lived in the US for the last 5 years, working continuously for 3 years.
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration or healthcare management.
- 2-5 years of experience in data entry or a related field, with a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.
- Certification in a related field, such as medical coding or billing.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance, with a strong understanding of HIPAA and other relevant regulations.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
