Role Description This is a full-time remote partnership role for an Online News Editor for an English language news website. The Online News Editor will be responsible for news writing, refining content, managing multimedia assets, and overseeing the publication process via a content management system. Daily tasks will include crafting and editing news articles, curating content stories, ensuring the accuracy of information, and maintaining consistent language and tone across the platform. The role also involves collaboration with reporters, contributors, and other stakeholders to uphold journalistic integrity and standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in News Writing and general Writing, with a strong understanding of journalistic best practices.
- Experience in Editing, including the ability to ensure content accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
- Familiarity with Content Management systems and basic knowledge of managing digital platforms.
- Understanding of Multimedia tools to incorporate images, videos, and other assets into news articles effectively.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.
- Prior experience in digital journalism or a relevant field is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field is desirable.
