Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Customer Service Representative to join our EXL Premium Audit team. As a Technical Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for handling customer inquiries, resolving disputes, and completing premium audits for property and casualty insurance policies. This is an entry-level to intermediate position that requires excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of commercial lines insurance, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer customer service phone line and manage calls in a professional and courteous manner - Document progress notes in customer files as applicable - Notify current auditors or branch managers of specific items - Escalate issues to management and complete audits at the customer's request - Complete premium audits for property and casualty commercial insurance policies, including workers' compensation and general liability - Work directly with policyholders to obtain payroll and accounting records and other information to apply correct classifications and exposure amounts - Communicate with agents, brokers, and carriers as needed - Manage inventory escalated to yourself to meet customer time service and quality requirements
Qualifications
- Effective diplomatic oral and written communication skills - Basic working knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping practices - Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to handle time-sensitive urgencies - Customer service-focused, with experience working directly with the public via phone and email - Strong computer and typing skills - Detail-oriented and able to interpret information - Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision - Experience working in commercial lines (property and casualty) insurance
