Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Professional at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to customers, learning about our products and services, and providing information to customers to sell entire projects. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service and that our stores are clean, shop-able, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance

  • Learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell entire projects
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
  • Handle basics in adjacent departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger yourself, co-workers, vendors, or customers
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments

Customer Service/Sales Position Types

* Department Sales: Sell products and services to customers in a specific department

  • Lead Generator: Identify and pursue sales opportunities to drive growth and revenue
  • Pro Account Sales: Develop and maintain relationships with professional customers to drive sales and growth
  • Sales Specialist: Provide expert knowledge and guidance to customers on specific products and services
  • Special Services: Provide specialized services to customers, such as installation and repair
  • Customer Order Specialist: Process customer orders and provide exceptional customer service

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or construction-related environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a construction-related environment, such as a hardware store or home improvement center

  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Experience with sales software and technology, such as CRM systems and point-of-sale systems
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in multiple languages
