The Work

We're seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist to join our Dallas office. This critical role is responsible for growing new business opportunities to achieve individual sales targets by performing the following duties:

  • Proactively build and develop relationships with organizations to increase sales potential and meet sales objectives
  • Own the effectiveness of the sales cycle from start to finish, with a focus on execution
  • Use CRM in HubSpot to track and move business through the pipeline and sales process for accurate forecasting
  • Create new business and leads on a continuous basis
  • Provide cost estimates, credit terms, and plan sales for orders received
  • Work with clients to create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process
  • Identify new potential customers through professional references, client references, etc.
  • Gather sales data to track the effectiveness of sales efforts and adjust approach to improve results
  • Answer current and prospective clients about products, installation, pricing, and lead times in a manner that adheres to sales practices and promotes clear communication
  • Understand and convey motivation programs/contributions to clients, when applicable
  • Plan reports of sales and manage accounts
  • Enter new client information and other sales data for current clients into CRM database

Key Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two or more years' related experience or potentially training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • A proven track record of solid sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Preferred Qualifications

* Advanced degree or certification in a related field

  • Experience with CRM software, preferably HubSpot
  • Familiarity with the energy efficiency industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

* A valid, insurable driver's license is required
