Medical Assistant - St. Peters & Florissant - Sign on Bonus Eligible!!

This is a full-time Medical Assistant position for the offices of Dr.'s Knapp & Miranda in Florissant and St. Peters. The role involves an outpatient clinical practice with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform back office functions
• Assist the provider in the interviewing, examination and treatment of patients
• Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height
• Perform phlebotomy
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen)
• Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team

Requirements

• The Medical Assistant is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
• Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• CPR Certification.
• PC/Windows proficiency.
• Medical coding familiarity.
• Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
• Willingness to travel between two office locations: one in St. Peters and one in Florissant.
