Job Summary
As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting our Revenue Recovery Department. You will work closely with a team of registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing professionals to ensure that our clients receive the reimbursement they are entitled to. This is a hybrid position, with a mix of remote and in-office work (2/3 days on/off). Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Associate, your key responsibilities will include:
- Retrieving patient medical records from various Hospital systems
- Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits
- Extracting/entering necessary information from/to Hospital patient accounting systems
- Making phone calls to Post Acute Healthcare Facilities to obtain information needed on patients
- Running and creating reports
- Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team
- Scanning and indexing of documents
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1-2 years of experience in a medical records or data entry role
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:
- Experience working in a healthcare revenue cycle or billing environment
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems
- Certification in medical records or health information management (RHIT or RHIA)
