Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for:
- Prescription Processing: Organize and manage incoming faxed prescriptions, patient documentation, billing information, and clarifications to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter prescriptions into our pharmacy database, double-checking all details to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Database Management: Keep the pharmacy database up-to-date, monitor the system to ensure all queues are functioning correctly, and ensure all tasks are wrapped up by the day's end.
- Quality Assurance: Regularly review entered data, spot discrepancies, and correct them to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to resolve prescription-related issues and support other departments when needed.
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification: Certification as a pharmacy technician.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably with data entry or in a retail setting.
- Skills:
+ Strong proficiency in pharmacy math (35 WPM). + Familiarity with pharmaceutical terminology and prescription processes. + Experience using pharmacy database systems and software. + Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills. + Sharp attention to detail and excellent analytical abilities. + Effective communication and teamwork skills.
