Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Part-Time Customer Service Representative to join our Spotted Lanternfly Response Initiative team. As a member of our team, you'll serve as a first-line point of contact for external stakeholders interested in reporting a Spotted Lanternfly sighting and/or seeking additional information and resources. You'll be responsible for maintaining the overall operation and professional image of our customer-focused call center, responding to customer inquiries, and referring customers to other departments or units when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a first-line point of contact for external stakeholders interested in reporting a Spotted Lanternfly sighting and/or seeking additional information and resources
- Maintain the overall operation and professional image of the customer-focused call center
- Respond to customer inquiries and refer customers to other departments or units when necessary
- Correspond with a diverse customer base by phone, video conference, email, or regular mail
- Investigate unusual situations or concerns and assist in problem resolution
- Operate various equipment and computer systems, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Assist with required reporting with the College SLF team, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, and/or United States Department of Agriculture
- Ensure quality of all call center services
Essential Qualifications
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong preference for bilingual or multilingual candidates
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clientele
- Ability to work as an active member of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet the expectations of concerned citizens
- Ability to develop working-level knowledge of Spotted Lanternfly and related topics
- Experience in customer service, call center, sales, client management, information technology, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a call center or customer service environment
- Knowledge of basic entomology and related topics
- Experience working with diverse populations and meeting audience needs through the call center
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer systems
- Experience with reporting and data analysis
