Assistant Controller (Fully Remote Anywhere in the U.S.)
About the Role: As our Assistant Controller, your mission is to provide financial and accounting support to our organization in an accurate and efficient manner. You will be both hands-on and strategic in this role. The Ideal Candidate:
- CPA
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online
- Previous experience as an Assistant Controller
- Demonstrates integrity and trustworthiness

- Organized, efficient, and accurate
Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes (accruals, allocations, )
- Prepare financial
- Maintain GL
- Perform A/R & A/P
- Reconcile bank and credit card
- Prepare 1099-MISC forms on annual
- Participate in Financial Planning, Cash Flow Management, and External Financial Audits.
- Support Budgeting, Payroll, and Contract Administration.
- Collaborate on corporate tax
- Assist with financial and cost control process
- Help with purchase accounting, related acquisition accounting, valuation issues, and due diligence, as needed.
- Properly utilize knowledge of S. GAAP/ Accounting Standards Codification (ASC).
- Maintain accounting procedures, analyzing current procedures and suggesting changes where needed.
- Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant designation
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Previous experience as an Assistant Controller or equivalent position
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and MS Office Suite
- Ability to be hands-on and strategic, helping wherever necessary in a small business
- Exceptional integrity and maintenance of confidential and sensitive information
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong detail orientation, organization, follow-through, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, flexibly shifting focus and priority according to business needs
- Ability to build relationships, cultivate trust, and foster partnerships with all levels internally and externally
- Positive "can-do" attitude and demeanor
- Resourceful and proactive problem-solver
- Self-motivated, results-oriented self-starter able to work efficiently from home
