Job Summary

As an Experienced Field Operations Crew Member – Pipeline Installation and Maintenance Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our energy infrastructure. You'll work outdoors in a fast-paced environment, operating heavy machinery, and performing a variety of tasks associated with pipeline installation and maintenance. Responsibilities

* Operate backhoe, trencher, cranes, jackhammers, and other heavy machinery to perform pipeline installation and maintenance tasks

• Make taps, fuse plastic pipe, and perform maintenance on equipment to ensure routine maintenance is performed
• Set up for job, ensuring tools and equipment are available, and install leak clamps
• Layout of line, cut, thread, and re-wrap pipes, and perform site excavation
• Perform and assist in related activities, including traffic control, locating pipelines, and assisting with purges
• Retire services, assist in relocating service lines, and change stop-cocks
• Perform above functions utilizing a variety of tools and equipment, including machinery, hand tools, shovels, rakes, and jack hammers
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge and use of construction tools and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned and required

Required/Basic Qualifications

* High School/GED degree

• Three (3) or more years of experience involving excavations, operating backhoes, and excavators
• Must demonstrate abilities for employment
• Advanced knowledge and use of construction tools and equipment
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of hand tools
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Safety awareness

Desired Qualifications

* Three (3) or more years of experience in pipeline installation and maintenance

• Experience working with heavy machinery, including backhoes, trenchers, and cranes
• Knowledge of pipeline materials and construction techniques
• Experience working in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

* Mechanical aptitude

• Knowledge of hand tools
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Safety awareness
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand, dig, climb, and work on uneven terrain
• Ability to use SCBA when responding to gas leaks
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

* Must work outdoors in adverse weather conditions

• Flexible work schedule; lifting up to 100 pounds
• Frequent bending, stooping, standing, digging, climbing
• Works on uneven terrain, many times with heavy vegetation
• Manual dexterity (hand/eye coordination)
• Keen eyesight
• Good hearing
• Good sense of smell
• Comes in frequent contact with insects and animals
