Experienced Customer Service Representative – Global Payments and Digital Strategy Team

Job Responsibilities

As an Experienced Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing transactions, including check processing, direct deposits, and budget transfers, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Coordinating with vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions to ensure smooth transaction processing
  • Assisting other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Working member cases and sports assigned, following and maintaining guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
  • Processing mortgage bills, multi-account and member deposits, credit card bills, and other exams, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff exams
  • Reviewing, examining, and approving Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Logging, studying, and making important GL, account changes, and/or returns
  • Processing Stop Pays and Check Batching
  • Completing daily balancing and department closing
  • Obtaining information from members for the timely and correct processing of international and domestic budget transfer requests
  • Researching and affirming incoming and outgoing budget transfer information
  • Communicating with vendors to process budget transfers
  • Understanding and being familiar with outgoing and incoming budget transfer laws
  • Depositing check returns, reviewing member back exams on draft changes, processing member exams, affirming members for outgoing budget transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing budget transfers
  • Completing daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, international collections, and legal fees

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience
  • Ability to work prolonged hours in support of business needs
  • Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and review data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time limits under high volume pressure
  • Ability to cross-train and perform any position assigned within the department
  • Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and members
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong employer skills and ability for attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time limits

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous customer/member service experience
  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience
  • Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
