About the Job GrowthGeek is hiring a founding Account Executive on behalf of a YC-backed B2B startup that just closed its seed round and is at an exciting inflection point in its growth. The founding team previously built and sold a technology company to a Fortune 500 acquirer. They've taken that experience and applied it to a massive, underserved market where the incumbents are slow, overpriced, and resistant to change. The result is a service that growth-stage companies genuinely love — flat-fee pricing, same-day turnaround, and a quality bar that consistently beats the alternatives. They currently serve 90+ companies, have strong investor backing from Y Combinator and top-tier venture firms, and are now building the outbound sales engine that will define the next chapter of the business. We're keeping the company name confidential at this stage. Candidates selected for interviews will receive full details about the company, product, and founding team. What we can tell you now: this is a real company with real revenue, real clients, and a founding team with a proven track record. Why this role is worth your attention The product sells itself on economics. The service starts at $500 per engagement with same-day turnaround. Every prospect you call is currently paying 3–5x more and waiting days or weeks for the same outcome. The pitch is a math problem, not a persuasion exercise. The expansion model compounds your earnings. Clients start with a single low-cost engagement and expand into volume packages ($2,250–$8,750), monthly advisory retainers ($2,000/mo), and comprehensive plans ($5,000–$25,000/mo). Your first 10 clients can become a six-figure book of recurring revenue over time. You're building the playbook, not inheriting one. The pipeline stages, pricing tiers, and ICP are defined. What's missing is the person who turns that into a repeatable, scalable outbound engine — and who wants to be the person the future sales team is built around. The founders are operators, not first-timers. They've built, scaled, and exited a company before. You'll be selling directly alongside senior subject-matter experts who actually help close deals — not handing off to a black box. What You'll Own

  • Build and run your own outbound pipeline: cold email, LinkedIn, warm intros, referrals — you source it, you close it
  • Run a fast, 1-call close motion alongside a senior expert — discovery + pitch on one Zoom, proposal sent same day
  • Execute 5–10 quality outbound touchpoints daily when not on live calls
  • Manage your pipeline in the CRM with discipline: stages updated, notes logged, follow-ups scheduled, nothing stale
  • Drive relentless follow-up on open proposals until they're signed or dead
  • Own client activation: get every new client to their first deliverable within 30 days of signing
  • Build and maintain client relationships in Slack post-close
  • Own the 90-day expansion motion: identify clients ready for volume packages, advisory retainers, or plans and drive the upgrade
  • Target 8–12+ new logos per month once fully ramped, plus expansion revenue
  • Hit and exceed weekly activity, meeting, and revenue targets

The Sales Motion

  • This is a compressed, high-velocity cycle — not a 6-month enterprise slog:
  • One call with you + a subject-matter expert → proposal sent same day
  • Structured follow-up sequence until signed
  • First deliverable completed (the real activation point — this is where the client sees value)
  • Ongoing relationship management to drive repeat usage, then expand into packages, advisory, or plans

Typical path from first touch to signed agreement: 1–2 weeks. Typical path from signed agreement to first completed deliverable: same week. You Are Paid On

  • New logos closed (bonus per new logo)
  • Client activity in the first 90 days of each engagement
  • Expansion revenue: conversions to volume packages, advisory retainers, and plans
  • Additional bonuses for driving recurring subscriptions and packages

Compensation

  • Base salary range: $75,000–$100,000 (depending on experience)
  • Realistic Y1 on-target earnings: $150,000–$220,000+
  • Bonuses: Per new logo closed + expansion conversion bonuses
  • Commission: On first 90 days of client engagement + recurring revenue from upgrades

Compensation details and structure will be discussed during the interview process. This is a high-upside founding role for the right person. Must-Haves

  • 3+ years full-cycle B2B closing experience (SaaS, agency, or professional services — not BDR/SDR-only backgrounds)
  • You have personally run outbound (cold email + LinkedIn + calls) and closed from your own sourced pipeline — not just worked inbound leads
  • Strong discovery, objection handling, and 1-call close skills
  • Professional video presence — you'll be on Zoom with senior executives and operators daily
  • Clean, disciplined CRM habits: stages updated, notes logged, follow-ups scheduled
  • Organized, data-driven, and relentless with follow-up
  • Comfortable selling into operations, finance, and executive buyers at growth-stage companies

Strong Preferences Experience selling to startups, founders, or operations/finance leaders Background with flat-fee services, subscriptions, or usage-based pricing models — you understand land-and-expand Experience selling multi-stakeholder deals Experience as a founding or early-stage AE at a startup — you've built a sales motion before, not just inherited a territory Comfortable selling to both mid-market accounts and high-velocity smaller accounts Hours & Schedule Full-time, fully remote Consistent working hours with strong overlap to US business hours (9 AM–6 PM Flexible timezone because team is across US) Must be available for client calls during US business hours Tools You'll Use Modern CRM, Gmail, Zoom/Google Meet LinkedIn (Sales Navigator preferred) Slack (internal + client-facing communication) Loom (async video for prospecting) Outbound sequencing tools Ramp Plan Weeks 1–2: Training on the offer, process, and pricing. Shadow live calls. Start outbound with provided messaging, positioning, and target lists. Weeks 3–4: Running your own calls with expert support. Daily outbound at half-volume while refining your pitch and cadences. Day 30+: Consistent daily call blocks, fully loaded pipeline, daily outbound at full volume. Day 90+: Steady flow of new logos, expansions, and subscription/package conversions.
