Area Accountant
Job Description:
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.
- Assists the Area Controller ensuring proper internal controls in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts and analyzes financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- May assist the Area Controller in managing accounting personnel.
- Supports the Area Controller during the annual budget and forecasting process.
- Assists with periodic financial audits and responds to information requests from corporate departments.
Requirements:
- Accounting experience.
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP).
- Intermediate MS Excel skills.
- Initiative to thoughtfully and fully research and follow up on non-standard situations.
- Effective and professional interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with general ledger software and other industry programs.
- Experience with Oracle accounting software.
