3D Animator Needed for Original Animated Family Fantasy Proof-of-Concept
I am seeking a talented 3D animator to help bring an original animated family fantasy project, to life. The project is a magical, music-driven adventure set in a vibrant mountain kingdom, centered on an 11-year-old girl. The ideal candidate should have strong skills in: •3D character animation for expressive, family-friendly characters
- Cinematic blocking, staging, camera movement, and visual storytelling
- Character performance, facial expression, body language, and emotional acting
- Animation in a polished family-film style with warmth, charm, humor, and heart
- Working from character designs, storyboards, scripts, and visual style guides
- Tools such as Blender, Maya, Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D, Houdini, or equivalent 3D software
- Lighting, layout, rendering, and basic scene assembly
- Experience with animated shorts, cinematic trailers, proof-of-concept reels, or children/family content is a plus
- Ability to collaborate on look development, timing, shot continuity, and visual consistency
Project Deliverable: The initial deliverable will be a short animated proof-of-concept sequence or trailer, approximately 60–180 seconds, based on provided story materials, character references, visual style guide, and storyboard direction. The sequence should showcase the lead character, magical world, emotional tone, and cinematic appeal of the project. Depending on fit and budget, this may expand into additional scenes, a longer short film, or a full pitch package. The selected animator must be willing to sign an NDA / confidentiality agreement before receiving full story materials, character details, artwork, scripts, or proprietary project documents.
