About The Role We are seeking a highly motivated Back-End Developer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable back-end solutions within a microservice architecture. You will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality web services and APIs that meet business requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of modern backend technologies, cloud platforms such as AWS, and relational databases like MySQL and Postgres. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with up to one year of experience to grow their skills in a supportive, remote-first environment while contributing to impactful projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent foundational experience
  • 0 to 1 year of experience with AWS, API integration, modern DevOps practices, and cloud-based architecture
  • 0 to 1 year of experience collaborating with other software engineers on projects
  • 0 to 1 year of experience working within and maintaining componentized design systems
  • 0 to 1 year of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and monitoring web applications
  • 0 to 1 year of experience with version control systems, preferably Git
  • 0 to 1 year of experience designing and implementing relational databases such as MySQL and Postgres
  • Preferred experience in retail, transportation, or supply chain industries
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Basic understanding of modern web development languages like Ruby on Rails or Typescript
  • Proficiency with Git and version control best practices
  • Knowledge of strongly typed code and API development, especially RESTful services
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Working familiarity with document databases like Redis

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable back-end solutions within a microservice architecture, adhering to established guidelines and under supervision
  • Implement unit and functional tests to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Collaborate effectively with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver integrated backend services
  • Design, develop, and optimize RESTful APIs for seamless integration across systems
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
  • Support continuous integration and deployment processes following modern DevOps practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project goals and team objectives
