About Data Ventures

Our Data Ventures team is a cutting-edge group of data scientists, engineers, and analysts who work together to develop innovative data products that drive business growth and improve customer experiences. We're a nimble team that's incubated within arenaflex, and we're building a suite of data products that provide actionable, customer-centric insights to our stakeholders. Our focus areas include customers, stores, employees, in-store services, supplier equipment, supplier data science, and search and personalization.

Key Responsibilities

As a Full Stack Data Scientist on our Data Ventures team, you'll be responsible for:

• Data Source Identification: Identifying the most relevant data sources for our projects, defining data requirements, and performing preliminary data quality checks.
• Problem Formulation: Analyzing business problems, identifying root causes, and developing solutions that drive business growth and improve customer experiences.
• Analytical Modeling: Developing and deploying machine learning models to solve complex business problems, working with large-scale, multi-structured data sets.
• Model Deployment & Scaling: Deploying models to production, monitoring performance, and identifying areas for improvement.
• Code Development & Testing: Writing code to develop and deploy solutions, testing and validating models, and contributing to code documentation.
• Applied Business Acumen: Evaluating business cases, influencing stakeholder decision making, and translating business needs into solutions.
• Model Assessment & Validation: Evaluating model performance, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that models are accurate, reliable, and scalable.
• Data Visualization and Storytelling: Developing data visualizations and stories that communicate complex insights to stakeholders, and guiding junior team members on data visualization best practices.

What You'll Bring

* Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 4+ years of experience in an analytics-related field, with a strong background in machine learning, statistics, and data science.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience in developing and deploying machine learning models.
• Ability to execute projects from start to finish, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
• Experience with MLOps, coding standards, and data visualization best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations into simple language, and to present insights to senior stakeholders.
