Key Responsibilities

As a Ramp Agent, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cargo, baggage, and mail. Your daily tasks will include:

• Safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, while ensuring timely connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions.
• Safeguarding cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather conditions.
• Safely driving and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion.
• Operating baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage to the customer's destination.
• Maintaining a high level of safety awareness and adhering to all operational procedures and protocols.

Work Environment and Scheduling

As a Ramp Agent, you'll work in a fast-paced airport environment, with varying shifts and schedules to meet operational needs. Shifts may range from early morning to overnight, and you'll work between 20 and 40 hours per week based on your seniority. You'll also have the opportunity to work in different airport locations, with varying flight schedules.

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you'll need to:

• Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data

• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
• Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States
• Have a valid driver's license
• Proficiency in English
• Pass a physical ability test (PAT)
• Wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include, but not limited to: hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear (bump cap or hard hat), and high visibility safety apparel subject to an approved accommodation, such as alternate PPE
• Ability to hold airport-specific requirements, such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal

• Previous experience in customer service, airport operations, or a related field
• Knowledge of airport procedures and protocols
• Familiarity with ground equipment and baggage handling systems
• Certification in a related field, such as aviation or logistics
