Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for: ### Prescription Processing
- Organize and manage incoming faxed prescriptions, patient documentation, billing information, and clarifications
- Investigate clinical documents and prescription details to ensure everything is complete and accurate
- Prioritize prescription entries based on urgency and criticality
### Data Entry
- Accurately enter prescriptions into our pharmacy database, double-checking all details
- Collaborate with pharmacists to get approvals for processed prescriptions
### Database Management
- Keep the pharmacy database up-to-date and ensure all tasks are wrapped up by the day's end
- Monitor the system to ensure all queues are functioning correctly
### Quality Assurance
- Regularly review entered data, spot discrepancies, and correct them
- Implement best practices to improve data accuracy and integrity
### Team Collaboration
- Work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to resolve prescription-related issues
- Support other departments when needed, contributing to overall data entry tasks
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a pharmacy technician
- At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably with data entry or in a retail setting
- Strong proficiency in pharmacy math (35 WPM)
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical terminology and prescription processes
- Experience using pharmacy database systems and software
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
- Sharp attention to detail and excellent analytical abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
