[Hiring] Head of Pet Insurance Programs @Tint
Role Description Tint is seeking a Head of Pet Insurance Programs to lead the strategy, development, and growth of insurance solutions serving the pet insurance market, including coverage for dogs, cats, and other companion animals. This leader will own the design and scaling of insurance programs tailored to pet owners, employers, and pet-focused platforms.
- Define and execute Tint’s insurance strategy for the pet insurance vertical.
- Lead the design and launch of insurance programs for the pet insurance market, including:
- Program structure and architecture
- Underwriting guidelines and eligibility criteria (e.g., breed, age, pre-existing conditions, lifestyle)
- Pricing and risk segmentation strategies
- Policy forms, filings, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with insurance carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, and brokers.
- Build relationships with pet care platforms, veterinary networks, employers, breeders, and retailers.
- Evaluate program performance across underwriting results, claims trends, and operational metrics.
- Act as Tint’s internal and external expert on the pet insurance market.
- Engage with carriers, brokers, pet industry partners, and associations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) in pet insurance, accident & health, or personal lines insurance.
- Proven experience designing or launching insurance programs.
- Strong understanding of pet insurance risk characteristics.
- Experience working with insurance carriers, MGAs, brokers, and reinsurers.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and sales teams.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience operating in fast-paced environments.
Requirements
- Experience working with embedded insurance, program business, or digital insurance platforms.
- Familiarity with pet ecosystems such as veterinary clinics, pet care platforms, and employers offering pet benefits.
- Experience with claims management, pricing models, or data analytics related to veterinary care.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) is a plus.
- Experience building or leading insurance programs serving pet owners or pet-focused businesses.
