Our Data Science + Mix (DDSI) association is responsible for supporting clients across the arenaflex organization, including Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, which encompasses Parks and Resorts, both domestic and international, Consumer Products, and Disney Interactive Experiences, as well as the Disney General Entertainment Content division, which includes Studios Content (Disney General Entertainment Content), General Entertainment Content, and ESPN and Sports Content. Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team, responsible for designing and developing cloud-based data pipelines that support our Media business. As a Data Engineer, you'll work closely with our Choice Science, Client, and Innovation colleagues on various projects, including data pipeline development, data set design, and data visualization. Your expertise will help us drive business value and make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop scalable, cloud-based data pipelines using technologies such as SQL (Snowflake and PostgreSQL), Python, Docker, and GitLab
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements, plan data pipelines, and implement data visualization strategies
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines, data set design, and data visualization tools
- Work with large datasets and cloud-based technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
- Develop and maintain automated work schedulers and code organization/development strategies
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with arenaflex standards and regulations
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
- Proficiency in Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
- Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS
- Experience with source control tools, such as GitLab or GitHub
- Experience with Docker and containerization
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
- Proficiency in cloud design and product contributions, ideally AWS
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks
