The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Utah Valley University invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate psychology courses.   • Prepare and deliver undergraduate psychology courses in accordance with department standards and course objectives.
  • Utilize multiple instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats, to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Develop course materials, such as syllabi, lectures, assignments, quizzes, and exams, aligned with current psychological theories and research.
  • Implement effective pedagogical strategies to promote student engagement, active learning, and critical thinking.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback through graded assignments, discussions, and exams.
  • Maintain student records, including attendance, grades, and communications, in accordance with university policy.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for all students, encouraging participation and academic success.
  • Be available to students via scheduled office hours, email, or other communication methods for consultation on coursework and academic progress.
  • Stay current in the field of psychology and effective teaching practices through ongoing professional development.
  • Comply with university and departmental policies and procedures, including those related to academic integrity, accessibility, and instructional quality.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

  • Master's degree or graduate degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited institution, or current graduate student who has completed a graduate-level course in the subject they will teach.
  • Requires candidates to establish residency in Utah upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed graduate degree from an accredited and reputable program in Psychology or a closely related field. Applicants currently enrolled in such graduate programs may also be considered.
