Political Science/Public Administration Instructor and Online Coordinator
Overview:
Central Michigan University's School of Politics, Society, Justice and Public Service invites applications for a full-time fixed-term faculty position as a Political Science/Public Administration Instructor and Online Coordinator. This position will manage and engage students in the School's undergraduate online programs in Political Science, International Relations, and Public & Nonprofit Administration. The successful candidate will teach at least four online courses during the academic year and work closely with the University's online advisors and support staff.
Responsibilities:
• Teach at least four online courses during the academic year in Political Science, International Relations, or Public & Nonprofit Administration
- Manage and engage students in the School's undergraduate online programs
- Participate in the University's online orientation events for new students
- Welcome and mentor online students each semester
- Review existing course shells and host virtual events
- Promote students' online success and serve as the primary liaison between online students and the School
- Collaborate with the University's online advisors and support staff
- *Qualifications:**
• Master's degree in Political Science/International Relations or Public/Nonprofit Administration, or closely related field
- Two years of online teaching experience at the university level
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration in online programs
- Experience engaging online learners from a wide range of backgrounds
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
- Effective oral/written communication skills
- Expertise in online pedagogy with proficiency in the use of online instructional technologies
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
