Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative, you'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to customers, learning about products, and providing information to customers to sell an entire project. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates to maintain a safe and clean shopping environment, and ensure that our customers receive the best possible service.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance

• Learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell an entire project
• Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
• Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
• Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
• Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments
• Participate in sales promotions, events, and activities to drive sales growth and customer engagement
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of products, services, and promotions to provide expert advice to customers
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues to drive business growth and customer satisfaction

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training preferred

• 1-2 years of retail experience, preferably in a sales or customer service role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors
• Strong product knowledge and sales skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on customer satisfaction and sales growth
• Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash, operating a cash register, and processing transactions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and move freely throughout the store

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of retail experience, preferably in a sales or customer service role

• Experience working in a home improvement or building materials environment
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
• Certification in customer service, sales, or a related field
• Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in multiple languages
