Quantum Leap Healthcare Collaborative (QLHC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 2005 as a collaboration between medical researchers at the University of California, San Francisco and Silicon Valley entrepreneurs. Our mission is to integrate high-impact research with clinical processes and systems technology to improve data management, expand access to clinical trial matching and sponsorship, and benefit patients, providers, and researchers.

• *The Role**

We are seeking a high-caliber Controller who thrives at the intersection of meticulous financial oversight and forward-thinking strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key member of the leadership team. This is not a "back-office only" role. You will be responsible for the "tactical" (ensuring the books are airtight and compliant) and the "strategic" (modeling complex funding scenarios and advising the CEO on long-term sustainability). The ideal candidate will be motivated by the idea that better financial management directly supports better outcomes for patients. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Financial Planning

• Business Partnership: Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, providing financial insights that influence organizational direction.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and develop rolling forecasts that account for the volatility of grant funding and clinical trial timelines.
• Financial Modeling: Create complex models for new initiatives, partnership agreements, and resource allocation.
• Board Relations: Prepare and present financial reports for the Board of Directors and Finance Committee, translating complex data into actionable narratives.

2. Tactical Excellence & Controller Operations

• Financial Reporting: Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Grant Management: Oversee the financial lifecycle of federal and private grants, ensuring strict compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and reporting requirements.
• Internal Controls: Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
• Audit & Tax: Lead the annual financial audit and Single Audit (if applicable), and ensure timely filing of Form 990 and other tax requirements.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow closely, optimizing the timing of draws and expenditures across multiple restricted and unrestricted funding streams.
• *Qualifications**

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Must have a CPA.

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Deep experience in Non-profit Accounting or Life Sciences/Biotech is highly preferred.
• Mastery of ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel modeling.
• Familiarity with NIH/Federal grant management and clinical trial billing is a significant plus.
