  • Investigating field conditions, preparing field sketches, and recording unusual physical features that may influence pipeline design.
  • Identifying survey and right-of-way needs for pipeline design projects.
  • Requesting test holes, borings, and other investigations to verify locations of existing utilities and understand underground conditions.
  • Preparing material lists and estimates of quantity, size, and description of pipelines, fittings, and appurtenances such as blowoffs, valves, hydrants, and meters.
  • Contacting and conferring with representatives of other agencies, utilities, and developers to secure information regarding existing and proposed underground facilities which could affect the design of EBMUD pipeline installations, as well as providing information about EBMUD facilities to others.
  • Conferring with project engineers, project managers, survey technicians, construction supervisors and inspectors.
