Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Retrieving patient medical records from various Hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits, adhering to regulatory requirements
- Extracting and entering necessary information from/to Hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining data integrity and security
- Making phone calls to Post-Acute Healthcare Facilities to obtain information needed on patients, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Running and creating reports to support data analysis and decision-making, utilizing data visualization tools and techniques
- Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
- Scanning and indexing of documents, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, health information management) preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a medical record/data entry or project support role, with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance
- Excellent data entry skills, with the ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into various systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals, including registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing professionals
