Remote Senior Cyber Insurance Underwriter
Our client is a leading global insurance provider looking to expand its specialized cyber insurance division with a talented Remote Senior Cyber Insurance Underwriter. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to our success from anywhere in the United States. As a Senior Cyber Insurance Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and managing the risks associated with cyber threats for our diverse client base. You will be responsible for evaluating complex insurance applications, developing tailored risk mitigation strategies, and making critical underwriting decisions to ensure portfolio profitability and stability. Your expertise will be instrumental in protecting businesses from the ever-evolving landscape of digital risks. Responsibilities: Analyze and underwrite complex cyber insurance applications, assessing risks related to data breaches, ransomware attacks, business interruption, and other cyber-related exposures. Develop and apply underwriting guidelines and pricing strategies for cyber insurance products, ensuring profitability and market competitiveness. Collaborate with brokers and clients to understand their cyber security posture and recommend appropriate risk management solutions. Conduct in-depth research on emerging cyber threats, technologies, and regulatory changes impacting the insurance industry. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, brokers, legal counsel, and internal claims and risk engineering teams. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters and contribute to the development of underwriting best practices. Monitor the performance of the cyber insurance portfolio, identifying trends and making recommendations for portfolio adjustments. Participate in product development initiatives and contribute to the refinement of underwriting tools and processes. Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and company policies. Prepare detailed reports on underwriting activities, portfolio performance, and risk assessments for senior management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in insurance underwriting, with a significant focus on cyber insurance. Deep understanding of cyber security principles, common threats, and mitigation strategies. Proven ability to analyze complex financial and technical data. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Strong negotiation and communication abilities, with the capacity to explain complex concepts clearly. Experience with underwriting software and data analysis tools is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage a remote workload effectively. Professional designations such as AU, CPCU, or CIC are highly desirable. A proactive approach to staying informed about the evolving cyber threat landscape.
