ARTFORUM: Director, Partnerships and Business Development
About the position The publishing team at ARTFORUM and Art Media (ARTnews and Art in America) is seeking a Director of Partnerships and Business Development whose mission is to grow revenue and build audience by establishing and executing innovative partnerships that drive business results. This role requires a deep understanding of the art world and media. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and innovation required to open doors and develop new business, they will be a creative thinker with excellent communication skills and have contacts at the highest level. The Director will lead operational efforts across multi-platform collaborations. Working closely with teams across editorial, sales and marketing, events, and finance, this role will serve as a key member of the publishing and leadership team. PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
- Generate new revenue and strategies across all platforms including print, digital, social, event sponsorships.
- Develop and execute comprehensive partnerships with brands, museums and cultural organizations to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability across multiple platforms and channels.
- Direct the development of systems, processes, and workflows that improve operational accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, events, and finance to align strategies with overall business objectives and priorities.
- Liaise with the editorial departments on programming ideas and execution to ensure programming is aligned with revenue targets and editorial mission.
- Manage budgets, prepare and present clear, insightful business reviews and performance updates to senior leadership.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and drive innovation in partnership
- Represent ARTFORUM and Art Media at industry events and client meetings, demonstrating thought leadership and championing mission, brand values, and editorial.
Requirements
- Five+ years’ client-facing experience in a similar role in an entrepreneurial environment with a proven track record in meeting revenue goals. In depth knowledge of the contemporary art world and competitive environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
