eCommerce UX Designer Needed to Improve Homepage & Product Pages (Conversion-Focused) - Contract to Hire
Project Overview: We manage multiple eCommerce clients and are starting to offer conversion-focused website improvements alongside SEO. We already have traffic and content — now we need to improve how the site looks, feels, and converts. Initial Scope (Phase 1): Homepage redesign (top priority) Product page (PDP) improvements Key landing pages (SEO pages that need better UX) Goal: Turn content-heavy pages into clean, modern, conversion-focused experiences that build trust and drive sales. This is NOT: A full CRO audit project A high-level consulting role A “just make it look nice” design job This IS: Hands-on work Practical improvements Iterative updates inside our platform (Odoo) Workflow: Review existing page Propose structure (simple wireframe or outline) Create mockup (if needed) Implement in staging environment Iterate based on feedback Requirements: Strong eCommerce experience (Shopify, Webflow, or similar) Understands conversion (CTA placement, trust, flow) Comfortable working inside a CMS / builder Able to work quickly and practically (not over-engineering) Images & Assets: We provide product images You should: Suggest what’s missing (lifestyle, banners, etc.) Use stock or simple graphics where needed Focus on clarity, not perfection Budget / Approach: We are starting with one page (homepage) as a test project. If it goes well, this will turn into ongoing work across multiple clients. Application Questions: If you saw a homepage that feels like a blog instead of a store, what would you fix first? How do you balance design vs conversion? Are you comfortable building directly inside a CMS like Shopify or similar? Share 2–3 examples of eCommerce pages you personally improved (not just designed) We are looking for someone practical, fast, and collaborative — not a large agency or long-term retainer model.
