Information Security Specialist / Security Engineer
1- Job Title: Information Security Specialist Client: CA State Govt. Key Responsibilities: 1- The ISS must have a minimum of five years of experience providing information security services including stakeholder engagement, analysis, reporting, tracking/monitoring, working collaboratively with teams and supporting knowledge transfer and training. 2- The ISS must have a minimum of two consecutive years of experience in the last ten years providing information security consultative services to a State of California agency 3- The ISS possesses current certification in at least one of the following: CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). Copy of certificate must be included ----------------------- 2- Job Title: Security Engineer Client: CA State Govt. Key Responsibilities: 1- The SE must have a minimum of five consecutive years of experience within the last ten years, providing security engineering services. This experience must include: · Designing and implementing security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), secure access controls, encryption mechanisms, security information and event management (SIEM) solutions. · Monitoring network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents, intrusions, and breaches. · Conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify weaknesses, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities in the organization's IT systems and applications. · Collaborating with stakeholders to develop, review, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures that govern the organization's security posture. · Designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems using various programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++). · Developing project documentation, system specifications and user manuals. · Reporting to project timelines and ensuring project deliverables are met. 2- The SE must have a minimum of five years of experience providing SE services to a California State agency, federal, local or public agency. 3- Two or more consecutive years of experience in the last ten years providing SE consultative services to a State of California agency applying Agile methodology.
