Principal Product Manager – Robotics & Industry

The opportunity Unity is the world’s leading platform for creating and operating real-time 3D (RT3D) content. Beyond gaming, Unity is emerging as a premier Simulation Engine for the industrial sector. Our technology allows companies to design, test, and train autonomous systems in virtual environments, long before they hit the factory floor. By leveraging Unity for Synthetic Data Generation (SDG) and simulation, our customers can accelerate development cycles and reduce the cost of robotics innovation at scale. In this high-impact role, you will lead Unity’s Robotics and Industrial strategy, shaping how developers and engineers build, train, and manage the next generation of autonomous systems. You will own the product roadmap for this vertical, acting as the "connective tissue" between our engineering teams and the industrial market. This role requires a leader who can drive results across many groups, leveraging a data-oriented mindset to ensure our offerings provide measurable value to our customers. What You'll Be Doing

• Drive Strategy and Roadmap: Own the execution of a unified robotics roadmap, ensuring technical and product alignment across internal Engine, Platforms, Cloud, and AI teams.
• Engineering & Cross-Functional Leadership: Cultivate strong relationships with Engineering counterparts to lead product areas hand-in-hand. You will drive feature delivery across disparate teams, clearing roadblocks and aligning priorities.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Lead with an analytics-first mindset. You will use data to validate product-market fit, prioritize the backlog, and measure the success of industrial offerings.
• Partnership & Ecosystem Exploration: Lead technical discovery with external partners. You will identify synergies and work closely with Business Development to understand and influence how collaborative contracts and partnerships are structured.
• End-to-End Delivery: Act as a hands-on lead from ideation to launch. This includes defining detailed requirements that guide engineering teams and navigating the "Design, Build, Train, Operate, and Monitor" robotics lifecycle.
• Executive & Customer Influence: Distill complex technical milestones into clear strategic updates for Unity leadership. You will also manage high-level relationships with key industrial partners to ensure their feedback drives our product evolution.

What We're Looking For

• Robotics & Industrial Domain Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the robotics landscape, including the integration of hardware/software and common industry standards (ROS/ROS2).
• Autonomous Execution: A proven track record of working independently to drive complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives to completion in a matrixed environment.
• Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform product strategy and drive organizational alignment.
• Technical Communication: Exceptional ability to simplify and articulate complex technical concepts, such as simulation, autonomous navigation, or sensor fusion to both engineers and executives.
• Commercial Awareness: Experience working alongside Sales or BD teams to support growth and navigate the fundamentals of strategic technology partnerships.

You might also have

• Simulation Software Tooling: Experience with simulation software, Synthetic Data Generation (SDG), or Digital Twins.
• AI & Machine Learning Foundations: Familiarity with modern AI training techniques (Reinforcement Learning or Imitation Learning) and their application in robotics.
• RT3D Engine Knowledge: Proficiency with Unity is ideal; experience with other 3D engines or simulation environments is needed.
• XR & Emerging Tech: Knowledge of how XR and spatial computing integrate into industrial "operate and monitor" phases of the robotics industry.
