The Data Engineering Team
Our Data Engineering team is a key part of arenaflex's Data Science + Mix (DDSI) association, which supports clients across our company, including the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products division, Disney Media Networks, and ESPN. We use a combination of data science, machine learning, and engineering techniques to analyze large datasets, identify business opportunities, and drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain data pipelines that support our business operations, including data ingestion, processing, and storage
- Develop and maintain data warehouses and data lakes that support our business analytics and reporting needs
- Collaborate with our Data Science team to develop and maintain data models and algorithms that support our business operations
- Work with our IT team to ensure that our data systems are secure, scalable, and reliable
- Develop and maintain automated workflows and scripts to support our data operations
- Collaborate with our business stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and apply that knowledge to improve our data systems and processes
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
- Strong experience with Python and SQL, with a focus on cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
- Experience with cloud design and product contributions, ideally AWS
- Experience with source control systems such as GitLab and GitHub
- Experience with Docker and containerization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based
- Strong understanding of data modeling and data architecture
- Experience with data visualization tools and technologies
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
