Job Summary
As a Benefit Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients via phone, email, and instant message. You'll work closely with our clients to understand their needs, respond to their inquiries, and provide clear, concise explanations of complex plan information and processes. Key Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional customer service to clients via phone, email, and instant message
- Build rapport with customers and respond to their inquiries in a compassionate and respectful manner
- Customize customer service approach to meet all types of member communication styles and personalities
- Handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion in accordance with HIPAA and Data Privacy laws and company data security requirements
- Skillfully translate health and welfare and pension terms, complex plan information and processes into simple explanations and instructions that customers can understand and act upon
- Read and understand clients' plan documents and online knowledgebase tools while collecting relevant information to determine immediate requests/questions and to anticipate the future needs of the member
Shifts and Schedule
* Work a 40-hour week during our busy season, with overtime available when requested
- Work a fluctuating schedule between 32 to 40 hours during our off-season, depending on client need
- No weekend shifts! Monday through Friday only
- Be flexible to work an 8-hour shift between 7a-8p, with some west coast roles requiring availability from 5:30a-8p
Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED
- Any experience in customer service or call center work is a plus
- English speaking candidates or bilingual in Spanish or French are encouraged to apply (paid 0.75 cents more if bilingual, fully fluent in Spanish or French)
