GIA Publications is seeking an experienced music engraver to support large-scale publishing projects. This role requires a high level of accuracy, consistency, and efficiency, with the ability to work within established house styles and production workflows. Available immediately!   • Advanced proficiency in notation software, including Dorico, Sibelius, and/or Finale.
  • Strong understanding of music theory, notation standards, and engraving practices.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
  • Ability to follow and enforce strict house styles and formatting rules.
  • Experience working across a variety of musical genres and styles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with prepress and production workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience with workflow automation tools such as Keyboard Maestro or scripting.
  • Degree in Music Theory, Composition, or related field.

Responsibilities:

  • Engrave and refine music notation to professional publishing standards.
  • Apply house engraving styles consistently across large batches of files.
  • Manage lyrics, chord symbols, and layout with precise alignment and spacing.
  • Review and correct files based on editorial and proofing feedback.
  • Prepare files for downstream layout and production workflows.
  • Maintain organized file structures and naming conventions.
