Remote Lead Civil Engineer - Structural Design (Deepwater Platforms)

Our client, a world-renowned engineering and construction firm specializing in offshore and deepwater infrastructure, is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Civil Engineer to spearhead their structural design initiatives. This is a fully remote position, allowing top talent to contribute from anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for leading complex projects involving the structural integrity and design of deepwater platforms, offshore wind turbines, and related subsea structures. The role demands exceptional leadership, advanced technical expertise in marine and structural engineering, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in a virtual environment. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of the unique challenges presented by offshore engineering. Responsibilities: Lead the structural design and analysis of complex deepwater platforms, offshore wind foundations, and other marine structures. Develop and implement innovative design solutions that meet stringent performance and safety requirements. Oversee the work of junior and senior engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and project direction. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines (e.g., naval architecture, geotechnical, subsea) to ensure integrated project delivery. Perform advanced structural analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA), dynamic analysis, and fatigue analysis. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards (e.g., API, DNV, ABS), and regulatory requirements. Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for structural engineering tasks. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for structural integrity challenges. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in offshore engineering technologies, materials, and design methodologies. Represent the company in technical discussions with clients, regulatory bodies, and industry forums. Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in offshore or marine structures. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the structural design of offshore platforms and related marine infrastructure. Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex, large-scale projects. Extensive knowledge of marine hydrodynamics, structural dynamics, and fatigue analysis for offshore structures. Proficiency in advanced structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, STAAD.Pro, Abaqus) and CAD software. In-depth understanding of international offshore design codes and standards (API RP 2A, DNV, ABS, etc.). Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems and make critical decisions. Experience working effectively in a fully remote, collaborative team environment. Strong understanding of project management principles.
