Job Summary
As a Network Protection Examiner Understudy, you'll work closely with our Incident Response Group to identify, mitigate, and recover from digital threats. You'll collaborate with experts to analyze incidents, develop response plans, and enhance our security measures. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in emergency management, threat assessment, and collaboration, setting you up for a successful career in network security.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with business clients to conduct needs analysis related to systems and business processes to provide high-quality technical solutions
- Ensure solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and compliance with departmental standards
- Manage project timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementation to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget
- Act as a resource to facilitate effective communication between business and IT groups
- Participate in system and acceptance testing
- Scope of work varies depending on the project task
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Fundamental knowledge of data security and risk management principles, theories, and practices
- Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm preferred
- Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Administration, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) preferred
- Basic knowledge of business analysis, process modeling, and improvement preferred
- Major understanding of project management methodologies, including the ability to design, manage, and maintain a complex, organization-wide program preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders preferred
- Fundamental knowledge of technical environments required
- Openness to Agile philosophies preferred
- Coursework or experience related to Network Security preferred
- Ability to remain organized and manage multiple and simultaneous tasks under tight deadlines
- Past investigator entry-level position experience within the past year preferred
- Experience resolving business issues in a capstone or case competition preferred
- Functions well in a culture that is open, direct, transparent, gracious, and empathetic
- Fast learner, self-motivated, team-oriented, with a sense of humor
