Senior Buyer - Indirect Procurement
Our client, a rapidly expanding retail corporation, is actively seeking an experienced Senior Buyer specializing in Indirect Procurement to join their global supply chain team. This fully remote role offers a significant opportunity to manage and optimize the acquisition of goods and services that do not directly relate to the company's core products, such as IT equipment, office supplies, marketing services, and facilities management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management, with a keen eye for cost savings and process efficiency. You will be responsible for identifying sourcing opportunities, conducting RFPs/RFQs, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This position requires a deep understanding of indirect spend categories, market dynamics, and risk mitigation strategies. The Senior Buyer will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their needs and deliver value-added procurement solutions. Success in this role hinges on analytical prowess, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to drive complex procurement projects to completion in a remote setting. We are looking for a proactive individual who can leverage data to inform strategic decisions and foster strong partnerships with suppliers. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for various indirect spend categories. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities. Manage the RFP/RFQ process, including vendor selection and negotiation. Negotiate contracts, service level agreements, and pricing with suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with key indirect suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to contract terms. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and provide solutions. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ethical standards. Analyze spend data to identify opportunities for consolidation and efficiency. Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect spend. Proven track record in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation. Expertise in managing vendor relationships and performance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in procurement software and e-sourcing tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
