Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Part-Time Remote Data Entry Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Central Billing Office, you'll be responsible for handling high volumes of charge and payment transactions, transcribing data from source documents, and reviewing and accepting charge sessions with a high level of accuracy. Key Responsibilities

* Handle high volumes of charge and payment transactions while meeting accuracy and production standards

  • Transcribe data from source documents and enter into computer system, including but not limited to:

+ Charge tickets + Insurance explanation of benefits + Personal payments

  • Review and accept charge sessions from assigned charge work queues with a high level of accuracy
  • Analyze charges to determine when required information is not provided or there is a discrepancy in the information given
  • Refer to appropriate individuals for follow-up when necessary
  • Review insurance explanation of benefits to ensure that appropriate payments and adjustments are applied according to contractual requirements
  • Provide documentation to appropriate staff when discrepancies are noted
  • Assist in other clerical assignments, such as:

+ Scanning + Filing + Mail processing/delivery + Patient registration

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two years of data entry experience or a combination of related education and experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office and data entry software

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare or billing environment

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems (PMS)
  • Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CMC)
