About the Role:
As a Data Scientist in our Product Insights team, you'll play a critical role in driving product development through data-driven insights. You'll work closely with data researchers, data and analytics specialists, and business groups to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, and develop data-driven solutions to address them. Your expertise in statistical and numerical methods, combined with your ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, will be essential in driving business outcomes and informing product decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive product development through strong data science techniques, including experimentation, modeling, and analysis, as well as tooling.
- Collaborate with partners to shape the vision of a product or feature, whether that involves defining an item strategy or developing new metrics.
- Foster experimentation and data-driven decision-making to accelerate project velocity and improve navigation.
- Work with ownership and accountability to ensure that the team is delivering reliable and high-quality results that inform product decisions and drive business outcomes.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, models, and tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Communicate complex data insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
- At least four years of experience applying statistical and numerical methods to inform business decisions at scale.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with large datasets and complex systems.
- Proficiency in SQL and statistical programming languages, such as Python and R.
- Experience working with data visualization tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong product sense, with the ability to balance partner or test-specific needs with investments in adaptable solutions that serve general use cases.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
- Experience working with machine learning algorithms and techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and tools, such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience working with agile development methodologies and tools.
- Strong knowledge of data governance and data quality principles.
