Support Worker
About the Role We are seeking a Support Worker with mental health experience to join a specialist package of care supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, including PTSD and an eating disorder. This role involves delivering person‑centred, trauma‑informed support within a structured environment, helping to promote recovery, stability, and independence. Key Responsibilities Support with mealtimes and nutritional intake in line with care plans Monitor and respond to mental health needs and risks, including distress and dissociation Build and maintain a consistent, trusting therapeutic relationship Support daily routines, including prompting personal care and promoting emotional wellbeing Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team Maintain accurate records and report concerns in line with safeguarding procedures Person Specification Essential: Experience supporting individuals with eating disorders and/or complex mental health needs Understanding of PTSD, trauma, and dissociation Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in high‑risk situations Strong skills in building rapport and therapeutic relationships Ability to provide consistent, reliable support Good communication and observation skills Commitment to person‑centred, recovery‑focused, and trauma‑informed care Desirable: Knowledge of risk management and safeguarding practices Experience supporting self‑harm behaviours or crisis situations What We Offer Competitive rate of pay Comprehensive training and ongoing support Regular supervision and opportunities for professional development Opportunity for continuity within the care package A rewarding role making a meaningful difference in someone’s recovery journey Safeguarding Salary: GBP 24000 - 30000 per year
