The Role
We're seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Information and Investigation group, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced data solutions that drive business growth, improve customer experiences, and enhance our overall competitiveness. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of arenaflex's data strategy and informing our decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the design and development of our data products and data warehouses, focusing on data analysis and science
- Plan and develop flexible data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Large Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Our tech stack includes Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Flink, and Windstream, with languages including Python, Scala
- Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data shops
- Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
- Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our commitment to our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis groups)
- Be an active participant and advocate of agile/scrum practice to ensure well-being and cycle enhancements for your team
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Experience with distributed systems like Flink, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
- Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Windstream) and writing and maintaining Data Pipelines
- Familiarity with Data Modeling strategies and Data Warehousing standard practices and procedures
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile approaches
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent analytical and relational abilities
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Familiarity with arenaflex's products and services
