Job Summary

We're seeking a Part-Time Remote Data Entry Assistant to join our team in the Central Billing Office, Palmer Building. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for handling high volumes of charge and payment transactions while meeting accuracy and production standards. You'll also be responsible for transcribing data from source documents and entering it into our computer system. Key Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Remote Data Entry Assistant, you'll be responsible for:

  • Handling high volumes of charge and payment transactions while meeting accuracy and production standards
  • Transcribing data from source documents and entering it into our computer system
  • Reviewing and accepting charge sessions from assigned charge work queues with a high level of accuracy
  • Analyzing charges to determine when required information is not provided or there is a discrepancy in the information given
  • Refer to appropriate individuals for follow-up when necessary
  • Reviewing insurance explanation of benefits to ensure that appropriate payments and adjustments are applied according to contractual requirements
  • Providing documentation to appropriate staff when discrepancies are noted
  • Assisting in other clerical assignments such as scanning, filing, mail processing/delivery, and patient registration

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of data entry experience or a combination of related education and experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

  • Experience working in a healthcare or billing environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems
  • Certification in data entry or a related field
