Job Summary
arenaflex is seeking an experienced Data Entry Associate to join our team. As a Data Entry Associate, you will be responsible for gathering, preparing, and entering alphabetic and numeric data from various source documents into our computer system for storage, processing, and data management purposes. If you have experience with medical bills/records, ICD and CPT codes, and are proficient in data entry, this role may be a perfect fit for you.
Responsibilities
As a Data Entry Associate, your key responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, organizing, and preparing source documents for data entry into our system database
- Reviewing data for discrepancies, missing pages, or information and resolving discrepancies using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution
- Entering both alphabetic and numeric data from source documents into the proper system database
- Reviewing data entered against the original source documents for accuracy and correcting any data entry errors or duplications
- Following data program security practices and procedures at all times
- Routinely securing information by completing database backup daily
- Performing other various clerical duties such as sorting, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required
- Maintaining confidentiality of all personal and financial information at all times and in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- The ability to achieve 8,000 or higher on a 10-key test (preferably above 10,000)
- A minimum of 6 months related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience in a medical office is preferred
- Complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone
- Knowledge of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet
- A full understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance
- Qualified typing skills with a minimum of 40 W.P.M.
