Senior Manager, Customer Claims and Insurance – Global Risk Management and Insurance Leadership Role

As a Senior Manager, Customer Claims and Insurance, you'll play a critical role in shaping our global risk management and insurance strategy, ensuring the seamless execution of claims processes, and fostering strong relationships with our customers and partners.

Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manager to lead our Customer Claims and Insurance team. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for managing risk profiles, insurance renewals, and claims functions, including customer inventory and cargo loss and damage claims, errors and omissions claims, property claims, and third-party liability claims outside of the US and Canada. You'll also oversee the Shipper's Interest program and Declared Value solutions, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage risk profiles, insurance renewals, and claims functions, including customer inventory and cargo loss and damage claims, errors and omissions claims, property claims, and third-party liability claims outside of the US and Canada

  • Oversee the Shipper's Interest program and Declared Value solutions, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support
  • Manage at least 2 full-time exempt direct reports, providing coaching, skills development, recognition, and rewards, as well as staff productivity and performance management
  • Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department, developing and implementing policies and programs as necessary
  • Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring compliance and addressing variances and other budget concerns
  • Manage global insurance-related functions, including insurance renewals, risk analysis, financial analysis, and reporting on risk functions
  • Manage claims processes with internal department employees and outside claims adjusters and insurers
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, including customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies
  • Travel required as needed to support business operations and customer relationships

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in risk management, Business, Finance, or related field preferred, or high school diploma or GED with 10 years of relevant experience

  • 8 years of relevant experience in risk management, insurance, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Insurance Designation (such as Associates in Claims AIC, or associate in risk management (ARM), or equivalent designation) preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with strong Excel skills preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong data and analytical skills, including understanding financial data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior claims experience in liability and property lines of business
  • Strong management and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Freight forwarding and customs brokerage experience preferred

  • Experience in managing a team, including coaching, skills development, recognition, and rewards
  • Strong knowledge of global insurance markets and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with claims management software and systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $82,476.00-$187,788.00 Annually
