Business Assistant & Pet Care Provider

Job Summary Around the Block Dog Walking & Pet Care, LLC, based in Lyndhurst, Ohio, is "Building an Army of Pet Care Warriors" to serve the eastern suburbs of Cleveland. I am the owner/founder and I'm seeking a Business Assistant/Pet Care Provider (full-time preferred/part-time possible). Around the Block currently serves from Cleveland Heights to Moreland Hills, and Solon to Wickliffe, with plans for major growth throughout the eastside and then beyond. The intention of this role is to add a "right hand" to the owner/founder and in time, become "second in command" for the business. I have more ideas and duties than I can manage alone and I'm looking for a genuine animal lover who is capable of walking several hours a day in all types of weather AND perform business administrative tasks. This is a ground-floor opportunity for someone who is interested in growing within the pet care field. There are a variety of opportunities that could be pursued in the future - from Office Manager to Mobile Groomer to Franchise Operator. As a small business, the position will start small with limitless potential to grow based on your interests. Duties

• Dog walking
• Drop-in visits for cats, dogs and other small animals
• Option to provide overnight sitting in clients' homes for additional pay (when jobs are available)
• Administer medication to cats and dogs when necessary
• Help manage social media: Instagram, Facebook, Nextdoor, Snapchat, Tiktok, etc.
• Check digital report cards completed by walkers and sitters to assure duties were properly performed for the appropriate durations
• Follow-up on pet client birthdays with e-cards, possible gifts
• Assist with marketing efforts
• Update Google profile and request reviews from new clients
• Assist with Wordpress based website for updates, changes, blog posts, new pages, etc.
• Follow-up with calls to clients to assure satisfaction and gain feedback
• Learn Petpocketbook software and keep records up-to-date
• And whatever else comes along that works with your skill set!

Requirements & Skills

• Must love animals
• Must have a reliable vehicle
• Physical fitness to walk several hours a day in all types of weather
• Computer skills - Microsoft Office, Wordpress, social media
• Interest in building a progressing career in a growing company
• Absolute reliability
• Willingness to undergo a drug test and background check
• Trustworthiness in people's homes and with their pets
• An interest in marketing and/or marketing skills
• Strong customer service skills with a can-do attitude
• Past work with animals highly desired: vet clinics, daycare/boarding facilities, pet stores, shelters/rescues, grooming, training, etc.
• Must live in close proximity to the areas served

Pay begins at $15 an hour plus tips, and incentives for fuel reimbursement. Additional income is available at $60 per night for overnight sitting in clients' homes (when available). Tons of growth potential for the right candidate! For a candidate who is "in it to win it" and will stick with me as the business grows, I will reward you accordingly.
