Agronomist, Crop Science Specialist
Our client, a forward-thinking leader in the Agriculture & Forestry sector, is seeking a dedicated Agronomist specializing in Crop Science to join their innovative, fully remote team. This role is essential for advancing sustainable farming practices and improving crop yields through scientific expertise and data-driven recommendations. You will be responsible for analyzing soil conditions, recommending crop management strategies, advising on pest and disease control, and promoting the adoption of cutting-edge agricultural technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong academic background in agronomy or a related agricultural science, combined with practical experience and a passion for modern farming solutions. Responsibilities: Provide expert advice on crop production, soil health, and nutrient management. Analyze soil samples and interpret data to develop customized fertilization and soil amendment plans. Recommend appropriate crop varieties and planting schedules based on local conditions and market demands. Advise on integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and sustainable disease control methods. Evaluate and promote the use of advanced agricultural technologies, such as precision farming tools and data analytics. Conduct field trials and research to assess the efficacy of new products and techniques. Educate farmers and agricultural stakeholders on best agronomic practices and regulatory compliance. Monitor crop development throughout the growing season and provide timely interventions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, sales representatives, and farm managers, in a remote setting. Stay current with advancements in crop science, plant breeding, and sustainable agriculture. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or a closely related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in agronomy or crop consulting. Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil science, entomology, and plant pathology. Experience with soil testing interpretation and fertilizer recommendations. Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies and farm management software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly. Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote environment. A passion for sustainable agriculture and improving farm productivity.
