Specialty Reserving Actuary - East Coast (Hybrid)

Candidates must be based in (or willing to relocate to) Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston or Chicago** Valayo are partnered with a leading global insurer looking for a Specialty Reserving Actuary based in the East Coast to join their actuarial team, reporting directly to the Global Head of Reserving. This is a highly visible role that sits right at the heart of the business, combining technical ownership with strong stakeholder exposure. You’ll lead a small team (onshore and offshore) and take end-to-end ownership of reserving across a large specialty portfolio, covering lines such as Marine, Energy, Aerospace, Credit and Construction. - Leading reserving work, including AvE analysis and reserve reviews
- Working closely with underwriters on portfolio performance, trends and strategy
- Presenting insights to senior stakeholders and contributing to decision-making
- Supporting US regulatory reporting, audit and governance across multiple entities The team is known for being forward-thinking, there's a real openness to new/innovative ideas, tools and ways of working. You’ll also get exposure to global specialty lines and projects beyond North America, which adds a broader, international angle.
What they’re looking for...
- ACAS/FCAS or equivalent
- Strong P&C reserving experience
- Some experience reviewing work or managing analysts
- A commercial, data-driven mindset with the ability to work closely with non-actuarial stakeholders
