Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Construction Civil Engineering Technician. At MAPPA Test Lab Inc., you don’t just clock in — you build a foundation for your career. You’ll gain hands-on experience in field inspection, laboratory testing, and technical reporting, all while working alongside professionals across Alaska. This role supports real project execution: taking accurate measurements, performing calculations, documenting conditions, and communicating technical details clearly with team members and stakeholders. Whether you’re assisting with planning, verifying compliance, or translating field data into defensible documentation, your work directly contributes to the success of civil engineering projects across the state. To succeed here, you’ll need the ability to pass qualifying training exams and certifications—or already hold them proficiently. The work is active and physical, so lifting up to 50 pounds is part of the daily rhythm. Our projects move with the season and the industry, so flexibility with hours is essential. Responsibilities include assisting in the collection and testing of materials for project specifications for diverse civil engineering projects, producing effectively communicating project details with team members and stakeholders. The role supports project execution by ensuring accuracy in measurements, calculations, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to gain proficiency in Civil Engineering Design and general Civil Engineering knowledge
- Willingness and ability to gain strong Communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders
- Willingness and ability to gain attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Willingness and ability to gain educational background in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology
- Willingness and ability to gain knowledge of construction safety protocols and sustainable practices is a plus
